What good is a crown once it cracks?

What good is a crown once it cracks?

A lovely customer of ours in Overland Park was suffering from the effects of a cracked crown leaking water. Some of her bricks were spalling and coming loose and some mortar joints were losing mortar. Luckily for her a permanent repair is available for the tops of chimneys. We literally remove the old faulty crown, and any loose bricks below it, set up forms, and pour a new one! By making it 5″ thick or more, pouring it out of concrete with an overhanging edge, reinforcing it with rebar and fibers, then finishing it off with moisture protection, we can provide a repair that both looks great and can last 50+ years! Gone are the days of chasing cracks away with crown seal every 3 to 5 years. Let’s welcome in the age of permanent crown repairs!
