Northeastern Johnson county offers challenging chimneys and homes to work on, this chimney was no exception. Repairs included 5 new stainless steel caps, installation of a new stainless steel liner for the utility flue and the rebuilding of the crown. The crown work was challenging in regard to its scope of size. To date it was the largest crown Full Service Chimney has poured. So mammoth in fact that the masonry industry did not even make adjustable concrete forms large enough. Our technicians Noah, Ritchie and Robert put their heads together and came up with an old school approach to a unique situation. We decided to create our own crown forms on site, to build this custom crown for our customer.
The result was so successful that we look forward to the next chimney (hopefully even bigger) so that we can use our “creative form building methods.”
