This year for National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) 2026, we traveled to the Kansas State Capitol and the new Robert Docking Building in Topeka.

Displayed on a wall is the phrase “Per aspera ad astra” — “through hardships to the stars.”

As the official motto of Kansas, it reflects a larger truth: meaningful progress requires discipline, resilience, and long-term commitment.

That principle is at the core of what we’re building. Our apprenticeship program isn’t just about training individuals—it’s about raising the standard of the trade, improving career pathways, and investing in the future of skilled craftsmanship for our specialized trade and our local community.

The goal is bigger than any one project: develop people, strengthen the industry, and build something that lasts. And it’s what we strive to do daily.

Building Careers That Last — One Apprentice at a Time.

At Full Service Chimney™, we use Registered Apprenticeship to develop skilled professionals right here in Johnson County, Kansas and surrounding communities. This model provides a structured pathway from entry-level to leadership.

A Career Path, Not Just a Job

Our program delivers paid, hands-on training from day one, combining real-world experience with technical instruction to build mastery, accountability, and leadership for those who are willing to take on the challenge.

  • Paid, hands-on training from day one
  • Clear path from Apprentice to Journeyman—and beyond
  • Real work in real homes solving real problems

Investing in the Local Workforce

We create opportunities for individuals across Kansas to build careers without leaving their communities—strengthening both the workforce and local economy.

Supporting Veterans

Apprenticeship provides veterans with a structured, team-based environment where they can apply leadership skills developed in service while building a long-term civilian career with our team.

  • Structured progression and accountability
  • Team-based culture
  • Opportunity to use GI Bill® educational benefits (if eligible)

Eligible apprentices may be able to utilize their GI Bill® educational benefits, subject to approval and eligibility requirements set by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Why Apprenticeship Works

Through On-the-Job Training (OJT) and Related Technical Instruction (RTI), apprentices gain both the technical skills and decision-making ability needed to succeed.

From Apprentice to Leader

We develop future Journeyworkers, team leaders, and mentors—building a culture of accountability and long-term growth.

Looking Ahead

As demand for skilled trades grows, apprenticeship remains one of the most effective ways to build careers rooted in skill, trust, and opportunity.
